The 2011 Event
The AKA American Open and the San Diego Padres came together for two great days to celebrate the martial arts. The first was the 2011 Martial Arts Day at Petco Park on August 20th where area martial arts schools performed on stage at the “Park At The Park” and when some of the 2010 AKA American Open Champions were introduced on field to open the game. Then on the second day the 2011 AKA American Open Champions performed at Sunday’s game following the Championships. That’s right! Ten Champions from this year’s 2011 AKA American Open were introduced on the field and performed in the Jumbo-tron San Diego Padres’ Petco Park major league baseball stadium in front of thousands of fans to the start of the game on September 4th.
